Mechanism analysis and policy for viscosity & elasticity effect of adhesive residue of protective film
Pressure-sensitive adhesive belongs to viscous-elastic material, so elastic deformation and plastic deformation will occur under exogenic action. When the acting force is fast, elastic deformation takes the main part; when the acting force slows down, plastic deformation plays a leading role. If tearing off the protective film quickly, pressure-sensitive adhesive will deform elastically which doesn’t have enough time to remove from the protected surface; as a result, adhesive residue appears. Based on time temperature equivalence principle, effect of tearing off protective film under low temperature is similar to that of quickly tearing off protective film. To avoid the above phenomenon, slow down when tearing off the protective film under a certain temperature (higher than 15℃). Quick operation under low temperature shall be avoided.
